Date Night (#5)

Although I haven't been so good about posting our monthly dates (remember how I'm doing a year of dates with Philip??), we have continued to do them every month.

For our June date, we took advantage of our little trip to Phoenix and Tuscon to leave Peanut with the grandparents and head off for an afternoon of tennis. I was super excited about this date because we have been talking about about playing tennis together for years, but we've never actually gotten around to it. It's one of the very few sports that we can play together, because Philip is very athletic and I am....not. (I mostly go along for the cute athletic skirts).

But to be fair, we did get some good volleys back and forth, and despite the 105 degree heat, it was a blast. Maybe one of my favorite dates so far this year.  If I wasn't pregnant, and it was more like 75 degrees, I could have played all day, I was having so much fun.

Happy 4th of July!
(now go eat some apple pie and light some sparklers!)

Date Night (#2)

Remember how I'm doing a year of dates with Philip? Well, Saturday night was our February date.

Since we've been married, we've talked about attending a BYU basketball game together, but for some reason we've never done it. So it was top on my list of things to do during our year of dates.

We dropped off Peanut at Kayla's house (thank you!), and headed off for an evening of cheering on our Cougs

Our seats were the second to top row, but amazingly we had a great view and our noses didn't even bleed (whew).

Senior Night brought our favorite Jimmer back

We finished off the evening with dinner at a new BBQ place in town, and watching Harry Potter #3 (we're making our way through all 8 since I got them for Christmas!).

Next month we're going ice skating -- I figure skated for about 7 years back in the day, and amazingly Philip and I have never been skating together...can't wait!

. . . . . . . . .

I have a bunch of fun projects in the works this week...watch for some new tutorials coming soon!

Date Night (#1)

white coat: h&m (circa 2009), polka dot blouse: lauren conrad via kohls (shop), blue pants: gap (shop), gray cardigan: target, mary jane wedges: target (shop)

For Christmas, my main gift to Philip was a version of Shannon Brown's A Year of Dates. One of my goals this year is to spend more quality time with my husband (and, ahem, not my laptop), so I planned out one date for each month of this year and bought gift cards, printed out schedules, and got a few date accessories to go along with each month's date.

Well, last weekend we scheduled date number one -- a date to Park City to eat at PRIME Steakhouse and Piano Bar. It was, in part, to celebrate our recent five year anniversary, and also because we've been talking about trying out PRIME for months and this was a good excuse. I was hoping to go during the Sundance Film Festival, but the dates didn't work out with our schedule. Guess I'll have to save my celebrity spotting for another date.

PRIME

The bathroom was channeling breakfast at tiffany's with their blue walls, bejeweled everything, and large picture of Audrey Hepburn. So fun.

Park City Main Street at night
Dinner was delicious, even though Philip's strip steak was way better than my filet (weird, right?), Park City was as beautiful as always, and we had a total blast.

We picked up Peanut from Leanne's house (thank you!), whisked him home to bed, and then finished off the night with homemade chocolate lava cakes.

It was the perfect way to start off our year of dates!
